Church of Oprah

On the surface, I like Oprah.  She is an intelligent woman.  She has some seemingly “good” things to say.  She even quotes the the Bible.  She believes she can change the world and she has.  But this is too much.

Several years ago, Casting Crowns came out with a song with lyrics that say, “What if America would pray and stop asking Oprah what to do”.   Those lyrics could not be truer.  As Christians we must stop turning to secular “wisdom”.

Guess what America?  Oprah is NOT a Christian.  She does not believe in the Diety, the birth, life, brutal murder, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As Christians, we must allowing Oprah to define our belief system.  We must stop following Oprah.

AT LAST SOMEONE SAYS WHAT REALLY GOING ON!
I HAVE NOTICE ON HER SHOWS DIFFERENT THINGS AND STATEMENT THAT HAVE ALARMED ME.
LIKE HAVING TO YOUNG TRANSGENDER YOUTH ON HER STAGE STATING AND I QUOTE THAT GOD MADE A MISTAKE THATS WHY I WANT TO BE ANOTHER GENDER. AND SHE IS OPENLY SUPPORTING THIS STATEMENT.
I’M SO GLAD YOU BLOG THIS BECAUSE MY SPIRIT SCREAMS THE SAME THING.
IS THIS WHAT THE WORLD CALLS LIBERAL CHRISTIANITY???

You said it right in five words “Oprah is NOT a Christian” and this is based on her own confession

Sometimes I imagine Oprah having an encounter with someone with the Truth about Jesus and tasting and seeing it is good and then discovers her searching is over. I realize she delights in any philosophy which she believes supports her self-made life style and I think she wishes the God who tugs at her would quit. Of course, I have an active imagination.

I going to post this on wed. thanks for the post.

I was flabbergasted when a preacher a few words suggested that Oprah was saved. Some of us will try to put everyone in heaven unfortunately.

HO-LEE COW.

I quit watching her last year. She was just too coo-coo for me.

I think it started happening after that crazy encounter with Tom Cruise!

Comment by jaredude

Jaredude, hey, that cracked me up. You could be right…there was some L.Ron Hubbard spirits lingering. What is the quote, “We are the company we keep”?

as-salaamu ‘alaikum. The most dangerous thing that I heard is that when Oprah asked Eckhart Tolle about the afterlife and he responds by saying,

“I never give it a second thought.”

To me this is the most dangerous statement that I found in this entire video.

Wow! Thank you for posting this eye opening video.

Comment by carla

I agree with Saifuddin that the Tolle quote was very upsetting. That one really floored me.

I too am concerned about this “Oprah issue.” She has such a powerful influence over people and she’s using it to lead them away from Jesus instead of to Him. If you’re going to say you’re a Christian, you should know what you stand for…the searching is over.

Created,

If you are a Christian you should know what stand for and why…then you will not so easily be led astray.

Great video, I’m working on a few of
my own to expose her heresy.

If Christians would read and study
the bible, they would know the truth
about her. It’s sad that we are so
biblically illiterate when there is no
need to be.

Thank you for your hard work.

Comment by Stacy L Harp

thanks for posting the video… I’ll probably link to it.

The previous commenter, Stacy, hit the nail on the head. Biblical illiteracy is a cancer.

Thanks for this. I’m linking a post to this site.

Have you heard Oprah talking to a Demon called Abraham through this woman called Esther Hicks.

Comment by livingjourney

Actually I would like to point out that Carla from More Books and Things pointed me to it in one of her posts.

Comment by livingjourney

This is a good warning. Warren Smith writes books and articles on these new age teachings, “Reinventing Jesus Christ” can be read on the web. More people should get the word out!

2 Peter 2:1-3 ….just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Pray for discernment and wisdom and this movement gains strength

Cling to your bibles and guns. Let hate fill your hearts and pay no mind that Oprah has done nothing but help people understand that there is more than one way to believe.

So continue to sin, judge and cast stones and go to church Sunday and pray for forgiveness and start all over again.

No wonder why you guys like your religion so much. You never have to be accountable.

Comment by Joe Rinker

Joe, you cannot guilt us into beleiving or saying that “all roads” lead to God. We don’t hate. We don’t hate Oprah, or you or anyone…we just refuse to allow her to tell us how to believe and what to believe.

Comment by cbgrace

First of all, who are we to say whether anyone else is a Christian? I find it so ironic that people claiming to follow the teachings of Jesus presume to declare someone else’s salvation. No, “ALL roads” do no lead to God- obviously. But I believe at least more than one road does, no? There are many ways to worship, many ways of having a personal relationship with God, and many ideas of what the Holy Spirit is.

As for Oprah, I agree that we shouldn’t look to her for the answers. But has anyone seeking the answers ever found themselves farther away from God after merely having a discussion with people who are different?

Comment by Kaitlyn

After perusing a number of Christian sites and reading some of the hysterical reactions to Oprah’s attempts to bring a new spiritual understanding to her viewers, I am both not surprised yet saddened by the overwhelmingly negative response to Eckhart’s teachings and others who reinforce this new consciousness.
I am leery of all “organized” religions or spiritual movements particularly the attempts by some to play the fear card, i.e. “evolve or die”. Human (ego) nature and the profit motive is usually the arbitor of the corruption of initially sound and revelational understandings of man’s spiritual nature…and that includes many of the old prophets as well.
Christian dogma as in all crystallized belief systems MUST by nature find fault with anything that challenges it’s veracity or authority. The real problem enters into all new truth when it is labeled, categorized and neatly pigeon-holed as part of some misguided or worse, demonic, conspiratorial plan to deceive true believers out of adherance to their “one and only” truth/ dogma. OR, it is rolled up into some larger scale rubric by genuine truth seekers who attach their unique words and “tech” to the new truths in an attempt to “package” it for sale/commercialization to the “enlightened” masses awaiting some new novelty in understanding the old enlightenment.
So, just as we have seen the historical solidification of myth into “organized truth/dogma” corrupted by the actions of self appointed church fathers vying for divine authority and power over the milenia, there is the same danger by self-appointed gurus and “New Age” prophets to corrupt the revelations of new spiritual truths and the rise of a greater consciousness of our divine nature, as well.
Let us all keep our journey of spiritual transformation unencumbered by “organization” and allow those seeking personal enlightenment to follow their own path to God and thier connection to the Divine without labels and hysterical demonization.

We are all brothers/sisters of the Spirit, let us all embrace one another in loving kindness and tolerance.
