Where there is no vision, the people perish -Proverbs 29:18
Plan is defined by Webster’s (www.webster.com) as “A method for achieving an end: An often customary method of doing something: A detailed formulation of a program of action: An orderly arrangement of parts of an overall design or objective: a detailed program.” The Plan cast the vision for your life.
One of Dennis’ favorite quotes is “If you plan for nothing you will get it every time.”
Ideas can be very general. I always say “write it down”. When an idea is written down it begins to take shape. It becomes a plan.
When you approach any situation with a plan, a written down plan, you have a much better chance of following the plan and succeeding. It is very difficult to follow a plan that isn’t written down.
And then God answered: “Write this.
Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters
so that it can be read on the run. -Habakkuk 2:2 (The Message)
I was speaking to a friend who had fallen into a bad situation in the past. I asked, “How do you plan on avoiding falling back into this situation?”. The answer was vague. I strongly suggested the ideas about how to handle the situation needed to be written down and shared.
Sharing your plan helps keep you on track. Sharing the plan keeps you accountable to pursuing the plan.
The plan should always have details rather than generalities. The plan should address many different situations, in detail. “If this happens, then ….”
Plans can help you reach a goal. Having a plan can help you avoid pitfalls. A plan is like the rudder on plane or a ship, it points you in the direction you want to go. It doesn’t make you go there but without it, you are just drifting aimlessly.
