The prayer conference this weekend turned out great. Many people were out of town and didn’t have a chance to attend. Don’t worry, we made a DVD…one I hope to never watch. I have never gotten used to hearing my voice recorded…it sounds weird. In my head I sound so much better that I do recorded. My brother-in-law Mark is editing the footage (he recorded from several angles), when it’s complete, I’ll try to post some highlights on here. Two highlights of the conference…praise and worship (Dennis, Mike and Josh did a great job. Mike was awesome enough to jump in and work the sound for us, for the whole conference, just because we need someone) and Charlie’s session on submitting to authority was very insightful. I look forward to watching that session again.
After the conference, we attended church on Saturday night. Then I went into the office today to continue learning this software package. Later this afternoon, we drove into Austin and ate at Threadgills. Lately, I’ve been craving some “home cookin'” Sure, I could have cooked at home. So we were headed into town to eat at Kirby Lane Cafe (I wanted some migas and pancakes…I know, great combination….it’s just too hard to decide what to get at Kirby Lane). We were passing by Threadgills and I’ve been telling Dennis I’m going to take hiim there. It was good. The highlight of the meal really was the banana pudding that I ordered to take home.
To top off our weekend, our friends JoVena and Rob, who moved to Memphis before we even married, called to chat. They are awesome and it was great catching up with them.
