So yesterday’s post was somewhat heavy. Lately, I’ve been grieved at the compromises I’ve seen being made. There are good weights and bad weights in life. It’s okay for me to feel the weight of this…it just means there are some things I need to take into prayer.
While we are called to set aside the weights that do so easily beset us (Hebrews 12:1 – in the NKJV it says every sin that does so easily ensnares us), what about the good weights in our life? It is good to feel the weight of our calling at times. To feel that what we are called to do has weight to it; it has meaning; it is important. At times we need to feel the weight of other people’s callings; we need to feel the importance of what they are doing.
While carrying around extra weight can be a bad thing. If you are carrying around weights to build muscle, it can be good. God will allow us at times to feel the weight of something, so it can build our spiritual muscles.
