Joy, Happiness, and being Thankful

Psalm 89:15
Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance.

Psalm 95:2
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Psalm 105:43
He brought out His people with joy,His chosen ones with gladness.

Psalm 126:5
Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.

James 1:2
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials

Thanksgiving isn’t until next week however (a fancy “but”), I want to start the festivities.  (Also, I am not starting to celebrate Christmas until Thanksgiving has come and gone….Thanksgiving is being overlooked.  Before we can receive a King-Jesus- we must enter in with Thanksgiving)

Joy is from the Lord and happiness is somewhat fleeting.  Here are some things that I am very thankful for that bring me much Joy (in no particular order):

Sam and Evan – these little guys are hilarious.

Ellie’s laugh (she had a really deep laugh for a 4 month old – it is quiet funny)

My Family

Here are some things I am thankful for that make me happy:

A good cup of coffee (If I am making coffee at home, Cafe Ole Texas Pecan from H.E.B. )

My new insulated coffee press from Starbucks (birthday gift)

A good (well-written, insightful, interesting, adventurous) book

Pajama days (you know the days you stay in your pajamas all day)

Walking fast

A good sale at Ann Taylor or Banana Republic

Parking favor (the good spot next to the door – God knows!)

Money that comes in unexpectedly (you know – money we didn’t put in the budget!! It’s a Dave Ramsey thing)

What are you Thankful for?
