Testimony

Standard

“When the soles of the feet of the priests carrying the Chest of God, Master of all the earth, touch the Jordan’s water, the flow of water will be stopped—the water coming from upstream will pile up in a heap.” – Joshua 3 (Message Bible)

Several weeks ago Tommy Tenny visited Promiseland San Marcos and he was preaching from Joshua 4 about the children of Israel entering the Promiseland.

Typically, during any message at church I like to read the scripture passage in context.  (check the facts people – do not just accept what someone tells you the Bible says.  You need to read it for yourself.  The Word says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge” – look it up.  We must study God’s Word so we will not accept any counterfeit gospel.)  He read from Joshua 4 so I was checking out what happened before and what happened after.  This really  jumped out at me.

Even nature testified of this event!  Can you imagine if you lived upstream of the Jordan during that time.  One day the whole thing backs up while something like a million people cross over.  All those people walking accross, took a while.  And what if you were downstream and suddenly this mighty river just stopped flowing.  People lived near water sources like the Jordan and one day it suddenly stops.

You can bet those people wanted to know what was going on.  You can bet some people investigated the event.  And word spread that a mighty nation, with God’s favor was entering the land.

What a powerful testimony.

What testimony in my life effected so many?

Casey you are Right! No, its not because you are my wife but first off we need to know what the Bible says itself. I cant tell you how many times I have heard from the pulpit, a Bible story that has been told different! (does anybody study the Bible anymore before they preach?) Anyhow it is an awesome fact that when God does something to teach someone something, there is always a display as a witness to people at large. great Job keep rockin!
