Honor where Honor is Due

We love our new church, Legacy Church in Buda (not pronounced Buda like the religious figure).  It is a wonderful church with a deep desire to spread the gospel throughout the region…and in a non-competitive way.  They want to connect to other churches in our area.

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation for a class called “Sticky Preaching” from another church in our area, Promiseland San Marcos.  I think I posted the invite to my facebook page.  A few people at my church expressed an interest in attending.  Last night, we attended our first “Sticky Preaching” class. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I loved the class title.

Last  night, Harry Fleming (who initiated the whole idea of teaching a “college like” class for people who are interested in preaching the gospel) taught the class.  There were around 30 people in attendance (I didn’t count…just estimating) and five of us were from Legacy church.  The class was good and I can see that it will also be challenging.  They are not simple going to teach us…each person in attendance will also have to “preach” a message.

Here’s why I love Promiseland San Marcos and give them honor.  1. They are doing great things in their community.  2. They are resourcing their region and even beyond their region.   3. They are also “non-competitive”.  4. They welcomed us!

On the way home, I was telling my friend how incredible Pastor Robin is and how when we left Promiseland to help with another local ministry, he prayed for us and “sent” us off in at a mid-week service.    He made it very easy for us to re-visit Promiseland.  We didn’t leave with “hard feelings” and we didn’t leave “hard feelings”.  That is how is should be.  I am glad are able to visit because many of our friends attend and serve in ministry at Promiseland San Marcos.

We are also incredibly blessed to attend a church that also wants to connect to like-minded churches in our region and blesses us to attend a class or a concert at another church.

This is how the Body of Christ should interact.  Ephesians 4:13 has the statement, “till we all come to the unity of the faith…”  The example being lived out here is “the unity of the faith”.

God Bless both Legacy Church and Promiseland Church!
