People do not write like this any more…nor do they make speeches like this. The poetry is beautiful. God is described as a great and glorious Being. This speech has promotes unity, ask God for forgiveness (for the nation), thanks Him for His great and various favor. This is George Washington’s (the first President of the United States of America) speech establishing Thanksgiving as a national celebration.
